This manual is published in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (PAIA). It explains the records held by Ascend Group Media and how a person may request access to them. This manual should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

The Information Regulator has compiled a guide in terms of section 10 of PAIA, in an easily comprehensible form, on how to use the Act. The guide is available from the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

Not all records are automatically available; access is subject to the provisions of PAIA and POPIA.
A request for access must be made on the prescribed form and sent to info@ascendgroupmedia.com. The request must provide enough detail to identify the record and the requester, the form of access required, and contact details. A prescribed request and access fee may apply, in line with the PAIA regulations.
Access to a record may be refused on the grounds set out in Chapter 4 of PAIA, including the mandatory protection of the privacy of third parties, the commercial information of third parties, confidential information, and records privileged from production in legal proceedings.
If a request is refused, the requester may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator or apply to a court, as provided for in PAIA. Details of the Information Regulator are available at inforegulator.org.za.
